Now this isn't your normal DashCam video but it's pretty scary!

The POV is from the cyclist as he's going along the road and what happens is sharp reminder to keep your eyes on the road! It turns out that the driver of the VW Golf has then left the scene of the accident!

    WOW.

As a road cyclist and a MTB cyclist, I fear the road more than hurling myself off the mountain.
At least he's ok but that's shocking.

VW thought he could make it into the station before the cyclist slowed him down by all of 30 seconds?

The more I watch the video, the more confident I am that the driver KNOWS the cyclist is there because it turned so quickly, almost hitting the raised kerb, in an attempt to get into the garage before the cyclist went past. And the car driver failed.

And the bastard drove away because he/she knew what they did was wrong. Thankfully the camera has captured the car reg details very clearly.

When you watch the slow motion you can see the cyclist on the deck his helmet flew off and the camera with it. after he head butted the screen might I add.

the impact to the screen must have broke the helmet enough for it to fly off.

The camera was mounted on the handlebar. The fork & front wheel broke off and flew over the car with the camera.

Things like this is why I would never cycle. You just can't trust everyone else when you don't have the safety of airbags etc.

No question that the Golf driver was at fault, but why the cyclist did not attempt to avoid the car or tried to brake???

Think by the time he had realised the car was not going to go on past him he had just about reached his bonnet. I did hear a tiny squeak of hard brakes a second before the car hit.
